The Internet of Things More and more, our applicances and machines aren’t just dumb things. They contain sensors, software, and network connectivity, all so that they can anticipate and respond to our needs. This “Internet of Things” is growing rapidly - experts estimate that by 2020 it will contain 30 billion objects, with a global market worth $7.1 trillion dollars. Increasingly, there’s a need for these objects to be able to talk to, and send payment to, each other, instead of just phoning home.
